Everything sounds interesting.

The television screen, the table, the chopsticks, the toy car tapping against the car window and even the washing machine.

When all that rhythm needs a focus, Music with Ed™ turns those recognisable everyday moments into purposeful everyday learning.

Created for children aged 2–5, Music with Ed™ is a printable early years learning poster that uses Look • Listen • Copy to bring familiar sounds and rhythms into one shared musical focus.

🤝 SHARE THE EXPERIENCE

Sharing the rhythm together is where Music with Ed™ begins.

As you look at the poster together, the drum, trumpet, xylophone or tambourine may be the first instrument to catch their attention.

Pointing, talking about the sounds and copying short rhythms gives you something musical to explore together.

From there, you might clap together, create your own rhythms, make up songs or explore musical instruments around you.

That shared rhythm creates connection while giving their natural interest in sound something to focus on together.

💛 WHY THIS WORKS

Children are naturally drawn to rhythm, repetition and sound.

Music with Ed™ doesn't interrupt that rhythm.

It works with it.

The instruments on the poster become the starting point for sharing rhythm together through Look • Listen • Copy, encouraging shared musical moments that can continue beyond the poster.

Keep the rhythm. Guide the focus.

🌱 WHAT CHILDREN BEGIN TO BUILD

Part of the Focus & Ready™ Learning Journey, Music with Ed™ supports children as they begin to:

• Build attention through rhythm and repetition.

• Listen, respond and take turns as you explore sounds together.

• Notice and copy short rhythms.

• Develop coordination through movement and sound.

• Grow in confidence as shared rhythm becomes something they can copy, explore and create for themselves.

ENGAGING WAYS TO USE YOUR POSTER

The setting changes, and so do the sounds.

Music with Ed™ can travel from home to the car, the bus or a restaurant, offering a familiar way to reconnect through shared rhythm wherever the day takes you.
